PMR.africa has completed its annual, national survey assessing livestock feed suppliers in South Africa.
The respondents rated the livestock feed suppliers overall and across a range of 9 attributes, namely:
- advertising promotions/campaigns;
- after-sales service and follow-up;
- competitive pricing;
- consistent good quality products;
- product availability;
- research;
- sales service;
- technical support; and
- a wide range of products.
The ratings are based on the perceptions of the respondents.
Finalists in each table are those livestock feed suppliers that made the cut-off criteria of being rated by at least 20% of the sample or sub-sample (as applicable) and with a minimum rating of 3.40 out of 5.00.

How the survey was conducted
Universe: Farming co-operatives and livestock farmers in South Africa.
Timing: Interviews were conducted during June, July and August 2008.
Sample: A random, national sample of 101 respondents comprising of 61 livestock
farmers and 40 senior managers and buyers representing farming co-operatives
in South Africa.
Methodology: Interviews were carried out telephonically utilising semi-structured
questionnaires. Back-checks were conducted at all stages of the fieldwork, data
capture and analysis stages. The questionnaires were checked for input quality
and completeness prior to data capture. |
