With 184 kW pure adrenalin – inducing power, 4-motion 4-wheel

eager to know when the new R32 is going to hit the South African
roads. Latest indications regarding availability in South
Africa, are first quarter 2007.
The all new R32 makes its debut in South Africa at Auto
Africa 2006.
Based on the fifth generation Golf platform, the R32 can best
be described as an extrovert, holding nothing back! A number of
subtle, yet distinctive features separate the R32 from the rest
of the new fifth generation Golf range.
An aluminium dual fin design radiator grille and the chrome
R32 are distinctive front-end features that differentiate the
R32 from the rest of the Golf range.
The R32 is fitted with unique front and rear bumpers, coupled
with larger front and rear spoilers.
At the rear of the vehicle, twin centre mounted chrome plated
exhaust tail pipes provide the dynamic look that alludes to the
capabilities of this exciting vehicle. Dark tinted rear light
clusters and a chrome R32 badge further enhance the sporty rear
end.
The R32 comes standard with unique 18” ‘zolder’ alloy wheels,
coupled with blue brake callipers which are trade mark features
of the R32.
Opening the driver’s door, immediately apparent are leather
sport seats which are height adjustable and offer lumbar
support. The perforated, three spoke, leather sport steering
wheel, pedal cluster and gearshift knobs are branded with the R
logo, to carry the essence of the R32 throughout the vehicle.
Powered by a 3,2l V6 engine that delivers 184 kW of pure
exhilarating power and 320 Nm of ripping torque, the R32 is the
fastest factory produced Golf ever built. The power is delivered
through a permanent 4-motion setup. Combined with specially
adapted lower sports suspension, you have a vehicle that
provides superb road holding and the feeling that you are
literally glued to the road.
In terms of performance, the R32 lives up to all expectations
- 0-100 in 6,2 seconds and a top speed of 248 km/h (DSG
gearbox).
There has been no compromise regarding safety. A total of six
airbags are standard on all R32’s. ESP is standard. Driving at
night has become much safer with enhanced night vision thanks to
xenon headlights that are also standard.
Initially, the R32 will only be available with the DSG
gearbox.
Optional features include racing bucket seats, sunroof, front
loading six-disc CD player, iPod preparation, satellite
navigation, park distance control and a multi-function steering
